Ticket Shortage for Trains in Ukraine: Why Ukrzaliznytsia Cannot Solve the Problem.
Ukrainians have long complained about problems with purchasing train tickets. However, so far the government and the Ukrzaliznytsia company have not found any solution to this problem.
Why There Is a Large Shortage of Train Tickets in Ukraine
MP Viktoriya Gryb pointed out that due to the closure of airports, the railway has taken on a significant load. However, she emphasized that the issue of ticket shortages cannot be explained solely by the state of military emergency and the increase in the number of passengers. According to her, the problem is complicated by the activities of resellers, which citizens complain about.
'They are talking about the fact that we currently need funding. Funding so that we can acquire new carriages',said the MP.
According to official data from the company, tickets can be purchased through the 'Diia' app or at ticket offices in some regional centers. But Gryb believes that this approach is not optimal, and tickets should be sold at all stations.
The MP called for an analysis of the occupancy of carriages, especially in the summer when the demand for travel to western regions increases. It is also important to check the booking system for military personnel and ensure that it is being used properly.
Recently, Ukrzaliznytsia added additional trains on popular routes. The company also explained the reasons for the high demand for tickets.
Ukrainians continue to complain about problems with purchasing train tickets. Alternatives have not yet been found, but Ukrzaliznytsia is actively looking for ways to resolve this issue, including launching additional trains and considering the introduction of new practical solutions.
