Military Cooperation and Support Measures

Merz highlighted Ukraine’s recent battlefield achievements, stating:

“Ukraine has been achieving notable military successes for several months now.”
He urged a shift toward diplomacy, emphasizing:
“It is time to sit down at the negotiating table, agree on a ceasefire, and put an end to this senseless bloodshed.”
Merz also confirmed openness to peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, with backing from Europe and the United States:
“We are open to peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, supported by Europe and the United States.”

As part of the declaration’s military cooperation framework, Ukraine secured a license to produce Aster missiles for SAMP/T systems. France pledged to deliver Rafale fighter jets, along with radars and missiles. Multinational military exercises are scheduled in the coming months. Additionally, the United Kingdom committed to assisting the European Union in financing a €90 billion loan to cover Ukraine’s defense and budgetary needs.

This summit and the resulting declaration underscore growing Western support for Ukraine’s fight for independence and security. The formation of the Anti-Ballistic Coalition not only boosts Ukraine’s defensive capabilities but also signals a unified stance among Western nations against aggression. Joint military drills and pledges of technical aid reinforce the strategic partnership among coalition members, potentially shaping the conflict’s trajectory.
