Odessa Deputy Sentenced to 5 Years for Bribery: Details of the High-Profile Case.
The deputy of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Council of Odessa was found guilty of inciting a businessman to bribe and was sentenced to 5 years in prison. According to media reports, this concerns Anatolii Khmilkovskyi.

Details of the Case
The deputy of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Council of Odessa attempted to give 450,000 US dollars to deputies and officials of one of the village councils. For this money, he requested assistance in resolving the issue of allocating land plots for further construction.
The suspect was detained immediately after receiving the first portion of the agreed sum, namely 10,000 dollars.
What the Court Decided
The suspect was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 15 - Part 3 of Article 369, Part 2 of Article 15 - Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud, offering an improper advantage, incitement to commit a crime). The court sentenced him to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The court's verdict comes into force 30 days after its issuance unless it is appealed in accordance with the law.
What is Known About Anatolii Khmilkovskyi:
In 2015, Anatolii Khmilkovskyi ran for the Cherkasy Regional Council from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. In 2019, he joined the 'Servant of the People' party, from which he entered the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Council. Later, he joined the political force 'For the Future'.
It is also known that in June 2023, Anatolii Khmilkovskyi became the deputy director of the children's center 'Moloda Hvardiya', which occupies 45 hectares on the coast in the Odessa region of Luzanivka.
