Losses of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea have limited its capabilities

According to Ukrainian military experts, the Russian naval forces have become unable to influence the course of hostilities in Ukraine due to significant losses suffered in the Black Sea.

"The Russian fleet is paralyzed in the Azov-Black Sea region," reported the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Pletenchuk also emphasized that after losing a third of the Black Sea Fleet's ships, the Russians cannot effectively influence the situation in the region. He noted that even those ships that could operate in internal waters are not being used due to the Russian fleet's inability to cope with the remnants in the Black Sea Fleet. Moreover, ships from other areas cannot enter the Black Sea.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Navy, Andriy Ryzhenko, highlighted the complexity of conducting landing operations for the Russians due to the necessity to suppress coastal missile systems located on the coasts of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, as well as due to significant losses of landing ships.

The UK Ministry of Defence stated that the recent Russian naval exercise "Ocean-24" is exaggerated, and they can only involve about 300 vessels, not 400 as claimed.

Despite losses in the Black Sea, Russia continues to invest in the development of its fleet in other regions. This is especially true for the launch of the new "Yakutsk" submarine for the Pacific Fleet, which is capable of carrying "Kalibr" cruise missiles.
