Distraught Brit gran thrown in jail and DEPORTED from Spain after 'losing her passport on flight' to dream holiday.
Brittish grandma ends up in jail in Spain after losing her passport
According to The Sun: 77-year-old Pam Tweedale, who went on vacation to Spain, found herself in an unpleasant situation: during the flight from London, she lost her passport.
Jam PressOn the Iberia flight, Pam placed her passport under the seat, and, according to her daughter Sharon, it may have fallen out during their exit from the plane. When Pam realized her passport was missing, she contacted Iberia's support service at Madrid airport, but the passport was never found.
Sharon said they were directed to airport police, where both Pam and Sharon claim they were detained. Sharon noted that they were held in a cell overnight until it was time to return to the UK.
“We know she had her passport when she boarded the plane. We placed our bags under the seat because the overhead lockers were full, and when we exited the plane, we walked for a minute, stopped in the restroom, and the passport was not in the bag,” said Emily Mann.
The authorities attempted to contact the airline, but the passport was still not found. Eventually, they were told to go to the guards.
“When we saw the guard, he told me and Sharon to go ahead, but we couldn't leave Pam,” added Emily.

As the situation did not improve, Sharon decided to leave the group to avoid a fine for missing the transfer. Then, according to her mother, the guard rudely insisted she leave. Eventually, they were taken to an office, but there was no time to recover the passport. With the weekend, they had to wait until Monday.
Pam, who suffers from asthma and recently had gallbladder surgery, was left without access to her medication and did not receive food and water until the next day when they returned to London.
“We signed some documents in Spanish, but we did not know what they said,” Sharon noted.
After all the turmoil, Sharon calculated that she spent around £500 on returning home, another £500 on a new flight to Spain to rejoin the family, and an additional £300 to return with them the following week.
The entire trip was planned by Pam's children and grandchildren to lift her spirits after the death of her husband.

Emily emphasized that Pam underwent a real ordeal: “She’s in shock, says she has no strength, panics, and does not want to leave the house.”
This incident involving Pam Tweedale highlights the importance of keeping documents secure during travels. Even one small mistake can turn a holiday into a major stress, especially for elderly people. Pam has reminded of recent travel troubles that left a bitter stain on her family's vacation.
