Children continue to be killed and deported: USA condemns Russia's actions at the UN.
The statement by the acting U.S. ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea, came in strong tones during the Security Council debate on the protection of children in armed conflicts. The diplomat called for the return of Ukrainian children who were forcibly taken from their families.
'Russian armed forces and affiliated groups continue to kill and maim children, many of whom are injured or die from explosive weapons,' Shea emphasized.
The diplomat expressed serious outrage that Ukrainian children are subjected to forced displacement and involuntary absence from home. She called for the return of these children to Ukrainian territory and to restore them to their families with dignity.

The diplomat's remarks mark another step in the strained relations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as between Russia and the West as a whole.
