Diesel Prices in Ukraine Set to Drop by 6–7 Hryvnias: Expert Reveals Timeline.
Forecast for Diesel Fuel Price Reduction in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: A Ukrainian fuel market expert, Dmytro Liushkin, anticipates a price drop of 6 to 7 hryvnias for diesel over the next several weeks. The downward trend has already started, meaning consumers could soon see lower costs at the pump. This forecast comes amid ongoing volatility in global energy markets, which has a direct impact on domestic fuel pricing in Ukraine.
How Diesel Prices Will Decline
According to Liushkin, this week alone may bring a decrease of roughly 1 hryvnia. The following week is expected to see a further reduction of 2 hryvnias, with an additional 2 to 3 hryvnia drop in the weeks after that. He stated:
'Two to three weeks. This week there will be another hryvnia, next week two, and then in a week another 2–3 hryvnias.' — Dmytro Liushkin
It is important to note that this forecast applies only to diesel fuel. Liushkin also mentioned that gasoline prices have the potential to fall, though the decline will be less pronounced:
'I told you about diesel; for gasoline, there is potential for a decrease, but by a couple of hryvnias less.' — Dmytro Liushkin
As a result, consumers can look forward to lower diesel prices in the near term, which could help ease fuel-related expenses.
This price reduction could prove significant for Ukraine's economy, as it will affect both household budgets and business costs, particularly in the transportation sector. Lower diesel prices may also influence the cost of goods and services, given that fuel expenditures represent a substantial portion of operational costs for many companies. At the same time, the expert's note that gasoline prices will see a smaller drop suggests that the fuel market remains sensitive to external factors that could shape future pricing dynamics.
