Up to 500 zlotys: new assistance launched for Ukrainian pensioners in Poland.

Ukrainian pensioners residing in Poland can receive pension benefits and additional social support. This is reported by Spilno.

Pensioners who are citizens of Ukraine and have reached retirement age in Poland, or previously received a pension in Ukraine, can receive pension payments remotely. This can be done through a personal account on the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or through the Polish Social Insurance Institution. In addition to pensions, single individuals have the opportunity to receive additional assistance of 500 zlotys, provided they have documentary evidence of their status and total income not exceeding 2157.08 zlotys.

There is also a program in Poland called 'Neighborly Assistance' for individuals over 60 years old without relatives, which provides help with daily activities such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, and repairs. The amount of assistance is determined individually by the commune where the person resides.

To receive pension payments, it is necessary to open a bank account, which can be done remotely through the official website of an authorized Ukrainian bank or a mobile application. Client identification is performed via video conference. Consultations regarding pension benefits are provided by the call center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Retirement Age and Receiving Pension in Poland

The retirement age in Poland is 60 years for women and 65 years for men. This is the basic requirement for receiving pension benefits in the country. Please note that these requirements apply to everyone who is eligible for a Polish pension.

If you have sufficient Ukrainian work experience to qualify for a pension, the period of work in Poland may not affect your pension benefits. This is important for those with significant work experience in Ukraine. Moreover, you can receive a Ukrainian pension while residing in Poland. To do this, you need to submit the appropriate application through the PFU web portal, selecting the option to make changes to the pension case.
