Combatants will receive 1000 UAH by Independence Day: who else can expect payments.
Combat participants with the status of participants in combat actions (CPA) and their families have the right to state benefits and financial support. Sometimes the government provides additional money to military personnel on certain occasions.
The law defines who can receive funds in honor of Independence Day, and the amount of payments is determined annually by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. In 2025, every CPA will receive 1,000 UAH, while military personnel with special merits to Ukraine will receive 3,100 UAH.
Pensioners among the CPAs receive payments automatically along with their pensions; no additional applications are required. Those currently on service will receive assistance through their place of service — the application is submitted by the commander of the military unit.
Combat participants who are not pensioners and are not serving but are working must contact the Pension Fund personally or through the electronic portal to receive payments.
Who else will receive money by Independence Day
Other categories of citizens will also receive payments from the state in honor of Independence Day. For instance, Ukrainians who participated in the war against Nazism or families of deceased veterans will receive between 450 and 650 UAH. Additionally, people with disabilities will receive assistance depending on their group.
Military personnel with the status of 'combat participants' also have various benefits, such as free travel on urban and intercity transport.
Moreover, the wives of military personnel are entitled to social guarantees that support the families of defenders and acknowledge their contribution to the country's security.
Ukraine celebrates Independence Day with various events and payments for different categories of citizens, including CPAs and their families, veterans, persons with disabilities, and others who contributed to the defense of the country. State support and recognition of the importance of service and sacrifice of military personnel are essential components of Ukraine's national policy.
