Kim Jong Un's daughter visits the Kumsusan Mausoleum for the first time: is she being prepared for power.
According to ТСН: The daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Ju Ae, has participated in a public event for the first time, visiting the Kumsusan Mausoleum along with her parents. This visit fuels rumors about her potential inheritance of the throne.
Public appearances of Ju Ae
North Korea expert Hong Min notes that North Korea is shaping the image of the Kim 'stable family' by showcasing his wife and daughter at important events. He states:
'It is practically impossible to publicly designate Kim Ju Ae, who is believed to have just turned 13, as the heir, as she has not yet reached the age that allows her to join the Workers' Party.'
At the same time, analysts emphasize that in the last three years, Ju Ae has increasingly appeared in state media of North Korea, reinforcing assumptions about her potential inheritance after Kim Jong Un.
Significant events involving Kim Ju Ae
The girl debuted in public in November 2022 when she attended a rocket test alongside her father. Since then, she has been seen repeatedly in his company at various military and civilian events.
In December 2023, she was present at the launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile 'Hwasong-18,' which is the most advanced long-range weapon in the country's arsenal. The girl also accompanied Kim during the launch of the reconnaissance satellite 'Malligen-1' in November of the same year. Pyongyang stated that this satellite would provide Kim Jong Un with the capability to monitor the White House.
Additionally, in February 2023, Radio Free Asia reported that the North Korean government ordered all citizens named Kim Ju Ae to change their names, which is a common practice for the ruling dynasty.
Ensuring Ju Ae's visibility at such significant events as the launch of new weapons indicates the North Korean leadership's desire to emphasize dynastic inheritance. This may signal Kim Jong Un's intentions to ensure stability in the country, even though his daughter is still too young for official functions.
Observing similar events, one can notice that North Korean national propaganda is actively working to create a positive image of the future heiress, highlighting her active participation in the life of the country.
