Ukraine has started to pay additional supplements to pensions for citizens with excessive work experience. Now retirees can receive up to 470 hryvnias per month if they have more work experience than usual.
Men with more than 35 years of experience and women with more than 30 years of experience are entitled to this additional payment. For those whose pensions were appointed before October 1, 2011, there are other conditions - more than 25 years for men and more than 20 years for women.
The calculation system for supplements provides an additional percentage for each year of excess experience, but the total amount cannot exceed one percent of the minimum pension. In 2025, the minimum pension is 2361 hryvnias, so for each year of excessive experience, the retiree will receive an additional 23.6 hryvnias.
Ukrainians with the largest excessive work experience can receive a maximum supplement of 470 hryvnias. It’s important that retirees check their pension accounts to confirm the correctness of additional payments for extra years of work.
The government of Ukraine has decided to provide additional supplements to pensions for citizens with significant work experience to recognize their contribution to the country's development. This initiative aims to improve the social protection of people who have worked for many years and deserve state support in retirement age. The new supplement system allows retirees to receive additional funds according to their work experience along with their pension, which will become an important additional source of funding for their needs and ensure a decent life.Read also
