Trump and Putin Meeting in Alaska
Former advisor to Donald Trump John Bolton shared his impressions of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. According to him, the American leader did not come out victorious in this confrontation.
John Bolton made this statement on CNN's program on Saturday, August 16.
'I believe that Trump did not lose, but Putin clearly won. Trump gained nothing but new meetings', Bolton emphasized.
He noted that Putin made a significant step towards restoring relations, which has always been his main goal. Bolton pointed out that the Russian president avoided sanctions and is not threatened by a ceasefire.
'The next meeting is not scheduled. President Zelensky was not informed about it until this press conference. This is not the end, but I would say that Putin has achieved most of his goals. Trump gained very little', he added.
Moreover, Bolton noted that Trump looked very tired.
