The world's first crewed electric air taxi flight between airports: details.
Vertical Aerospace has manufactured the world's first electric air taxi, the VX-4. This is not just an aircraft, but a tilt-wing vehicle that can take off and land vertically, but also transition to horizontal flight. Such a vehicle is very convenient for urban environments where there are no large airports.
The VX-4 air taxi is designed for four passengers and has two options - electric and hybrid. With a maximum speed of 185 km/h and a flight altitude of up to 550 meters, it can fly between 160 and 1600 km on a single tank of fuel.
This air taxi is virtually silent and does not heat up, making it ideal for urban use. Test flights have confirmed its readiness for integration into existing infrastructure, and the company plans to launch a commercial service by 2028.
Previously, similar news was about the first electric ekranoplan, which also successfully completed a flight with passengers. The aviation world is rapidly evolving, implementing new technologies for passenger convenience and demonstrating readiness for changes in the transportation industry.
