Drone Attacks in Kharkiv Region Prompt Urgent Calls for Child Evacuation.
Kharkiv Region Evacuation: Families with Children Advised to Leave Border Settlements
According to Novyny.live: Authorities in the Derhachi community of Kharkiv Oblast are urging families with children to evacuate border settlements due to a rapidly deteriorating security situation. Recent days have seen Russian FPV drone strikes on Slatyne and Ruska Lozova, leaving one civilian with severe injuries.
As of July 1, officials are preparing for mandatory evacuations in the settlements of Slatyne, Ruska Lozova, Bezruky, and Leshchenky, which are home to over 3,600 people, including 304 children. The breakdown of minors is as follows: 164 in Bezruky, 89 in Slatyne, 45 in Ruska Lozova, and 6 in Leshchenky.
Due to the constant threat of enemy drone attacks, staying in Slatyne and Ruska Lozova has become extremely dangerous, posing a direct risk to the health and lives of civilians, especially children, according to Vyacheslav Zadoronko.
Security Situation and Recommendations
On June 30, Russian forces struck the community with FPV drones. The attack in Ruska Lozova resulted in a 61-year-old man suffering a traumatic leg amputation. Between 3:00 AM and 6:20 AM on June 30, Russian forces hit Slatyne at least four times. Oleksandr Kulik stressed that since the evacuation process is lengthy, action must be taken now to avoid a delayed response.
Additionally, on June 29, Russian invaders launched an airstrike on Kharkiv's Kholodnohirskyi district, injuring 12 people. In light of these events, authorities are calling on residents to remain vigilant and prepared for potential further attacks.
This situation underscores the growing threat to civilians in the border zones of Kharkiv Oblast, where Russian attacks are becoming more frequent and intense. Officials are working to protect children and families who may be caught in the crossfire, urging residents to act quickly on evacuation recommendations. The region remains tense, and future military actions could further impact the overall security landscape.
