Under Enemy Fire: The Daring Rescue of a Wounded Ukrainian Border Guard.
Rescue Mission for a Wounded Soldier
According to Novyny.live: While under heavy enemy fire, the 'Pomsta' (Revenge) Brigade of the Luhansk Border Guard Detachment executed a high-risk evacuation of a wounded comrade. The incident unfolded when one of their border guards came under direct attack, forcing his fellow soldiers to act with speed and coordination in an extremely perilous situation.
Coordinated Heroism Under Fire
Despite the ongoing bombardment, the assistant driver of a 'Babai' pickup truck applied a tourniquet to his wounded brother-in-arms and then dragged him over a kilometer to safety. This harrowing effort was made possible by critical support from a second crew, consisting of the driver of a 'Hrek' armored vehicle and his assistant, 'Kucher,' who moved in to provide covering assistance. Such operations are a grim daily reality for Ukrainian forces defending their country's sovereignty.
“Despite suffering a concussion and the threat from enemy drones, the assistant driver of the 'Babai' pickup applied a tourniquet to his wounded comrade and dragged him over a kilometer to shelter,” stated the 'Pomsta' Brigade.
This event underscores not only the individual bravery of Ukrainian servicemen but also the vital importance of seamless teamwork in combat. Effective coordination between units can decisively impact mission outcomes, especially during critical emergencies. The evacuation of wounded personnel remains one of the most challenging aspects of military operations, and actions like these demonstrate the high level of training and courage possessed by Ukraine's border guards.
“This was an 'evacuation within an evacuation' under extraordinarily difficult conditions, where every second was worth its weight in gold,” added unit representatives.
