Ukraine’s FREEДОМ Launches 'Turkish Focus' – A New Program on Kyiv’s Ties with Turkic Nations.

According to UATV: Ukraine’s state-run international broadcaster FREEДОМ has unveiled its latest news initiative, 'Turkish Focus,' designed to explore and report on relations between Ukraine and Turkic-speaking countries. The program is hosted by Maryna Honcharuk, who highlighted the significance of the launch, stating that
“Turkey and Azerbaijan are strategic partners of Ukraine”- Maryna Honcharuk.
Yulia Bin, Director General of the state enterprise 'Multimedia Platform for International Broadcasting of Ukraine,' also commented on the project’s debut, noting that
“the launch of the thematic 'Turkish Focus' will allow us to engage more precisely with audiences in Turkic countries”- Yulia Bin. This reflects a growing emphasis on strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and nations sharing a Turkic heritage.
Project Scope and International Support
The program covers a wide range of topics, including political developments, cultural diplomacy, and the lives of Turkic communities within Ukraine. A key aspect is the aid that Turkic nations have provided to Ukraine. Azerbaijan has already contributed $40 million in humanitarian assistance, while citizens of Kazakhstan have raised over 20 million tenge for humanitarian relief. These efforts underscore the active backing Ukraine receives from Turkic states amid ongoing challenges.
According to statistics, 94.6% of YouTube views for 'Turkish Focus' come from international audiences. The viewer demographics include:
- 52.2% from Kazakhstan,
- 12.9% from Azerbaijan,
- 11.4% from Russia,
- 6.6% from Uzbekistan.
This data confirms strong global interest in the subject matter.
Additionally, Jabrail Markhiyev remarked that
“this shows that Kazakhs have actively responded to the conflict and sympathize with Ukraine”. It also highlights the importance of building closer ties between Ukraine and Turkic countries, which could foster further collaboration across various sectors.
In this way, 'Turkish Focus' represents a significant step forward in improving Ukrainian-Turkic relations, opening up new avenues for partnership and mutual engagement.
