Harris could change the US approach to Ukraine — Media.

American policy towards Ukraine is increasingly being shaped by former US President Donald Trump, rather than Washington itself. Voting in Congress on providing additional aid to Ukraine has been delayed due to the support of Republicans who opposed it. Now Trump and his advisors are once again determining the course of conversations about ending the war, reports Politico, citing Fabrice Pothier, CEO of Rasmussen Global.
Now, with Kamala Harris's nomination for vice president, Democrats must regain control of American policy towards Ukraine. To succeed, they must clearly demonstrate that the war will continue until its favorable conclusion, and this is only possible through the use of force.
According to the author, Harris must show willingness to lift restrictions on the use of long-range Western weapons against military targets in Russia, as well as on deploying NATO member states' instructors in Ukraine.
Harris must also demonstrate that she will not allow Putin to dictate the terms of the war. To do this, she may propose a new approach, whereby NATO countries willing to provide more assistance can do so. For example, she may state US support for allies who will shoot down Russian missiles or drones approaching their territory as acts of self-defense.
"Kamala Harris's new plan could address one of the main complaints of Republicans - European countries are not doing enough to support Ukraine. Lifting restrictions and showing support from the US could encourage European allies such as France, the United Kingdom, Nordic countries, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Poland to take more decisive actions to help Ukraine," writes Pothier.
