Gas Prices in Ukraine are Rapidly Rising: Fresh Prices.
Ukraine has been facing rising gas prices for the fourth consecutive month.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
In August 2024, the cost of gas increased again. Now, for 1000 cubic meters of gas, you have to pay 12,995 hryvnias, excluding VAT. This is 2.3% more than in the previous month.
Interestingly, gas prices have been increasing for the fourth consecutive month. Earlier, the cost of gas was decreasing for half a year.
Compared to last year, gas has become more expensive. In August 2023, the price was 12,500 hryvnias per 1000 cubic meters.

European gas prices are 415 dollars per thousand cubic meters. At the official exchange rate, this is 17,048 hryvnias.
Recently, there has been a trend towards a decrease in gas prices. This has become possible due to increased imports of liquefied natural gas and record fuel reserves in storage, which reduced concerns about possible supply disruptions.
Recently, gas prices reached their highest level since December of last year. This happened after the gas measuring station "Sudzha" in the Kursk region came under the control of Ukraine.
Experts from the National Bank of Ukraine explained that gas prices in Europe increased due to geopolitical conflicts, increased demand from Asian countries, and limited supply from Norway. However, high levels of gas reserves in Europe and insufficient demand are stopping the rapid price growth.
