Flu more dangerous than COVID: Doctors urge Ukrainians to get vaccinated.
With the onset of autumn, Ukrainians are reminded of the importance of getting vaccinated against the flu. The flu can have serious complications, so it is necessary to be prepared for the illness. The Institute of Flu is actively working to update the vaccines according to current strains of the infection. Starting from September, vaccination is recommended to prevent illness and avoid complications.
Flu Vaccination in Ukraine
Dr. Oleshchenko emphasized the importance of flu vaccination: 'This year's flu is worse than COVID with serious complications that can include pneumonia, inflammation of the brain, and high fever. Vaccination is an effective way to prevent these complications.'
Additionally, it is reminded that after the age of 16, booster vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough should be updated every 10 years to maintain protection against these infections. It is also important to remember that COVID-19 vaccination is available for everyone, especially for those who have received only two doses for free.
We remind that following recommendations for vaccination against the flu and other infections is an important step in preserving health and preventing the spread of diseases, especially in the context of the COVID-19 spread and the emergence of new strains of the infection.
