The US to Provide Ukraine with a New Military Aid Package

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin made an unannounced visit to Kyiv, where he announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $400 million.

During a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Austin emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine for the future of Europe, NATO, and America's security.

"The results of Ukraine's fight for its freedom will define the trajectory of global security. The future of Europe is now at stake. NATO forces are also at stake. And America's security is on the line," said the Pentagon Chief.

The new aid package includes ammunition for HIMARS rocket systems, artillery and mortar shells, TOW anti-tank missiles and Javelin systems, M113 armored personnel carriers, communication equipment, and other equipment.

Austin stressed the US's readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in line with the bilateral agreement signed by Zelensky and Biden. He also noted that the world faces a choice: to continue opposing Putin's aggression or to allow him to act with impunity, which could lead to "a much bloodier and more dangerous world."

Earlier, Zelensky revealed what he had agreed upon with Pentagon Chief Austin.
