Danish scientists conducted a study to determine how people actually assess beauty. They found that the main criteria for determining attractiveness are facial symmetry and the presence of unique features. If the right and left sides of the face are similar, the person is considered attractive, and if symmetry is absent, it can affect the perception of beauty.
What else influences beauty
According to scientists, unusual facial features such as nose size or chin shape also contribute to beauty. Well-groomed skin is also an important criterion for attractiveness as it creates a positive impression and improves the overall assessment of appearance.
Excessive sun exposure and tanning can lead to the appearance of extra wrinkles, which are seen as a sign of aging. An artificial skin tone can also be a sign of poor health and can reduce the attractiveness of a person.
The conducted study confirmed that facial symmetry and unusual features do indeed influence the perception of beauty. This helps to understand which factors affect the assessment of appearance and which aspects can enhance or diminish a person's attractiveness.Read also
