Google announced its plans to merge Chrome OS and Android into a single platform. This was stated by the president of the Android ecosystem at the company, Sameer Samat, during an interview with TechRadar.

During the conversation, the journalist noted that he uses Apple products but is interested in the principles of using laptops since Google plans to unite its two operating systems. Samat explained his interest in this issue, saying: 'I asked because we are going to merge Chrome OS and Android into a single platform, and I am very curious about how people use laptops today and what they do on them.'

Although Google has previously worked on integrating its mobile and desktop platforms, this is the first time the company has publicly announced its intention to fully merge them. Details about this project remain unknown for now, but it is already known that Google plans to gradually transfer Chrome OS to the Android base, rather than create a new operating system from scratch.
