SBU detained GRU agents of the Russian Federation: they were preparing strikes on Kyiv and Odesa.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, two agents of the Russian military intelligence (GRU) were detained for coordinating air attacks on Ukrainian cities. According to the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine, they were planning new missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and Odesa.
The actions of the offenders
According to information from the Security Service, the suspects were tasked with determining and transmitting the coordinates of defense forces to the GRU of the Russian Federation. They were also collecting data on the consequences of enemy attacks on civilian infrastructure to adjust subsequent strikes.
The SBU noted that the agents acted independently but under the supervision of a joint curator, whose identity has already been established by the department's cyber specialists.
'To collect intelligence data, the figures went to the area, photographed potential targets, and recorded their coordinates,' the SBU reported.
Detention of agents
Among those detained is a 31-year-old man from temporarily occupied Melitopol, who was sent to Kyiv by the GRU for intelligence gathering.
Under the GRU's orders, his goal was to identify and transmit the coordinates of repair bases for the defense forces' equipment.
The agent was also studying the times of the largest gatherings of people near recruitment centers in the Kyiv region to understand when the enemy plans to strike.
In Odesa, a former military woman was detained who, after leaving service, began collaborating with the Russian GRU. For money, she transmitted information about the coordinates of the location of marine protection units, border guards, and National Guard in the port city to the occupiers.
However, according to the investigation, she did not receive the promised money.

Judicial process
Both detainees were charged under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason in conditions of martial law). They are currently in custody without the right to bail, facing life imprisonment with property confiscation.
The situation regarding the detention of Russian intelligence agents underscores the importance of the work of the Security Service of Ukraine in the context of the conflict. In a war situation, such incidents pose a serious challenge that requires vigilance and readiness to act on the part of law enforcement.
