Ukrainian President’s Statement
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Kyiv has fulfilled the necessary conditions to open all negotiation clusters in talks with the European Union. He expressed hope that Poland and Hungary will not obstruct Ukraine’s path toward European integration. These remarks came during a joint press conference with Ireland’s Prime Minister, held on the occasion of Ireland assuming the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU.
The Stakes of EU Integration
Zelenskyy underscored the critical importance of Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, stating:
“It is in the interest of all countries to bring Ukraine into the EU as quickly as possible” — Volodymyr Zelenskyy
He also emphasized that “Without Ukraine and its experience, it is impossible to guarantee Europe’s security.” These statements reflect Ukraine’s strong push for EU membership and confirm the government’s commitment to deepening cooperation with European partners.
The president voiced his expectation of support from European nations, specifically noting:
“I hope that Péter Magyar supports this” — Volodymyr Zelenskyy
These words highlight the importance of Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts to maintain momentum toward European integration.
Zelenskyy’s latest comments signal Ukraine’s active steps toward EU accession, aimed at strengthening the country’s position within the broader European political landscape. Cooperation with key EU member states such as Ireland, Poland, and Hungary could significantly influence Ukraine’s progress in realizing its European ambitions, particularly given the current geopolitical climate.
