State Grant Program for Businesses Expands to New Areas

According to Novyny.live: A government-backed grant initiative for entrepreneurs has been broadened, now allowing residents of Odesa Oblast and the city of Slavutych to apply for funding of up to 500,000 UAH. Previously, these grants were only available to business owners operating in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. This expansion aims to encourage business growth in additional parts of the country.

Grant Eligibility and Funding Tiers

Under the program's terms, entrepreneurs can receive up to 300,000 UAH for creating one new job. Those who establish at least two new positions can qualify for a maximum grant of 500,000 UAH. Additionally, individuals under 25 years old can access grants of up to 150,000 UAH without the requirement to hire employees.

Grant funds may be used for:

  • purchasing equipment,
  • acquiring raw materials and supplies,
  • renting premises,
  • other costs associated with starting or growing a business.

The program is designed for Ukrainians planning to launch a business, as well as for existing sole proprietors and companies operating in territory under Ukrainian control.

To apply for a grant, candidates must log in to the Diia portal, select the 'Grant for Your Own Business' service, complete an application and business plan, submit the required documents, undergo an interview at an employment center, and await the funding decision. Notably, the program also extends to individuals with experience in crop farming or animal husbandry, who can receive grants ranging from 33,000 to 125,000 UAH.

For residents of Donetsk Oblast, additional support of 10,800 UAH is available for basic needs. These new grant opportunities open up avenues for entrepreneurship in Ukraine, drawing more participants into the national economy.

This expansion of the grant program underscores the Ukrainian government's efforts to support entrepreneurship amid economic challenges.

Access to these funding resources could serve as a critical tool for stimulating economic activity in regions that previously lacked such support. The introduction of grants for young people and agricultural entrepreneurs also reflects a commitment to fostering innovation and growth across various sectors of the economy.
