Today, August 8, Greco-Roman wrestler and People's Deputy of Ukraine Zhan Beleniuk won Olympic bronze. At the same Time, Greco-Roman wrestler Parviz Nasibov received a silver medal. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, thanked the athletes for their character and strength.

Recall that in the bronze medal match in the weight category up to 87 kg, Zhan Beleniuk defeated the Pole Arkadiusz Kulynycz. The first point was scored by the Pole. But Beleniuk managed to equalize the score and then performed a move for two points. As a result, the Ukrainian won with a score of 3:1.

Also, Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler Parviz Nasibov, today, August 8, was defeated in the final of the 2024 Olympics by Iranian representative Saeid Esmaeili Leivazi - 6:5.

At the end of the match, Nasibov tried to perform a move to score points, but the opponent counterattacked. Nasibov's coaches requested a replay, as they believed that the Iranian broke the rules at that moment. But the judges made a rather dubious decision and awarded the points in favor of Saeid.
