Ukrainian Intelligence Exposes Kremlin Bot Farm's Fake Story About French TV Report.
Ukrainian Military Intelligence Debunks Fake French TV Story
According to UATV: Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has identified a false narrative circulating on social media about a French television report that allegedly discredits Ukrainian intelligence. Sources within the GUR state that this information is baseless and has been distorted by Russian propagandists. The agency noted that Kremlin-linked bot farms are actively spreading such disinformation while a Ukrainian delegation is abroad on official visits.
GUR sources confirm that the claims regarding the French TV report are completely false. The intelligence agency also revealed that Russian special services have allocated half a million dollars to locate and neutralize Denis Kapustin, commander of the 'Russian Volunteer Corps'. This disinformation campaign is a common tactic in Russia's hybrid warfare against Ukraine. It is important to note that on January 1st, the GUR confirmed that Kapustin is alive, despite a previous report from December 27th of last year claiming he had been killed on the front lines.
The Information War and Its Consequences
The spread of this false information about Ukrainian intelligence is part of the ongoing information war waged by Russia. A GUR source emphasized:
'Kremlin bot farms are once again actively spreading fakes, exploiting the fact that a Ukrainian delegation is currently abroad.'
Consequently, Ukrainian military and intelligence officials urge the public to be cautious with information circulating online, especially in the context of international trips and diplomatic negotiations.
This situation illustrates the intensification of information campaigns conducted by Russian propagandists, particularly during important international events for Ukraine. The GUR's rebuttal underscores the critical importance of reliable information and vigilance when consuming news that can influence public opinion and international relations. Amid the ongoing war for information dominance, Ukraine remains focused on defending its reputation and the truthfulness of its communications, which is vital for maintaining international support and trust in Ukrainian institutions.
