The GUR did not fulfill its promises. 'Azovets' explained the main problem of the large exchange.
The armored military 'Azov' spoke about the problems in returning from captivity
The military Gennady Kharchenko, who defended Mariupol and ended up in Russian captivity, stated that the authorities do not keep their promises regarding the return of captured azov soldiers home. He pointed out that during each exchange outside the country, traitors and deserters are returned, rather than those who have shown true heroism in battles for Mariupol.
Each time instead of my comrades, I find among the exchanged faces traitors and deserters, - Kharchenko noted.
The military emphasized that all captured citizens of Ukraine must be returned, but fulfilling previous promises regarding the conditions of exchange is an integral condition.
Information about the released azov soldiers
Kharchenko also revealed information about the military suspected of treason who were returned from captivity. Among them were those who collaborated with the occupiers, refused Ukrainian citizenship, and even protested against their comrades.
Shortcomings in the process of prisoner exchanges raised the question of the need for investigation and improvement of the conditions for the return of Ukrainian soldiers from captivity. The commander of 'Azov' urged the authorities to seek ways for the release of azov soldiers regardless of exchanges with Russia.
