Ban on the sale of energy drinks to youth
HOME Bargains stores will soon implement a ban on the sale of energy drinks to individuals under 16 years old in all of its 600 stores. The retailer will actively monitor the sale of such drinks as Red Bull and Monster Energy, which contain high levels of caffeine, reports The Sun.The new regulation prohibits the sale of energy drinks with a caffeine content of 150 mg or more per serving.“We aim to protect youth and raise awareness about the impact of caffeine on their health,” said a company representative. These changes will affect all stores in the chain, and the retailer hopes that the new rules will help reduce the consumption of energy drinks among young people.By implementing such restrictions, the company highlights the need to control products that may adversely affect the health of young audiences. Similar initiatives may serve as an example for other retailers in their efforts to protect youth from the potential risks associated with consuming energy drinks.
