About 46% of people are tired of boring white, gray, and beige colors, while 63% choose bright colors for their living rooms.
Bedrooms (36%) and dining rooms (17%) are also getting colorful makeovers.
Some of the most popular mood-boosting purchases include cushions (45%), unique wall art (36%), and bright throws (30%).
Another 18% dare to wallpaper their walls with patterns for the first time.
“Dopamine decor is a natural evolution of the bright clothing trend, as people use fashion to feel happier,” says Carolyn Woolmer, lead designer at Lust Home.
She adds that 'bold colors and playful prints can increase energy and immediately improve the atmosphere in a room.'

Despite the desire for change, 63% of people feel some nervousness about using bright colors.
- 38% fear their homes will look too 'busy.'
- 27% worry about conflicts with existing furniture.
- 22% don't know how to choose colors.
Color expert Karen Galler points out that 'if bright colors are your way of expressing your personality, remember not to jump straight from neutral tones to the full spectrum.'
“Start with small accents, such as decorating the back wall of a bookshelf or a window space,” she advises.
