Custodian of Taisiya Povaliy's Wealth. Who is Nina Hiryavets and Why She is Now Being Taken to Court.
Singer and former member of parliament Taisiya Povaliy and her husband Ihor Likhuta do not own real estate in Ukraine. The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit against Povaliy to seize assets, thus involving the artist's mother, Nina Hiryavets, in the case as a third party.
According to the State Register of Property Rights to Real Estate, Nina Hiryavets owns a residential building with an area of 442.8 sq. m. in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv. She also owns another property of 101 sq. m in the same village. Additionally, Nina Hiryavets has seven land plots with a total area of 9.28 hectares in the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi and Makariv districts of Kyiv region.
The Court Will Consider the Case
The High Anti-Corruption Court began hearing the case and scheduled the next session for September 12. The Ministry of Justice filed the lawsuit based on the law "On Sanctions" to confiscate Taisiya Povaliy's assets. The case should be reviewed within 30 days.
It is worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed personal sanctions against Taisiya Povaliy in 2022. She obtained Russian citizenship in 2023 and performed in occupied Luhansk. The Security Service gathered evidence against Povaliy, who justified the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Povaliy herself justifies Russia's actions and praises Russian President Putin. However, her mother, Nina Hiryavets, underwent psychiatric treatment after shelling and became a victim of a rocket near her home.
