Powerful earthquake 7.4 near Kamchatka: tsunami warning issued.
According to The Sun: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in eastern Russia in the morning, becoming yet another seismic shock for the Kamchatka region in the Far East of the country.
Videos published on social media captured the moment when the tremor occurred. This is the latest tremor that struck the Kamchatka region.

After the earthquake, a brief tsunami warning was issued, but it was later canceled.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the earthquake early Saturday. Its epicenter was located 69.3 miles east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Videos circulating on social media show the moment of the earthquake when objects around vibrated during the seismic activity. The Japan Meteorological Agency reported minor sea level changes to coastal areas, although this did not result in serious consequences.
This earthquake occurred just weeks after a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 that struck the same part of Russia in late July.
“The aftershock was caused by a surface slip.”
“At the time it occurred, this was the largest recorded aftershock following the main shock of magnitude 8.8.”
It is also reported that in the earthquake zone, the Pacific plate is moving in a northwest direction relative to the North American plate at a speed of approximately 80 mm per year. The location of the earthquake and the mechanism of the slip correspond to tectonic activity along the underwater slip zone in the Kuril-Kamchatka area.
The July earthquake prompted the issuance of threatening tsunami warnings across the Pacific Rim, while countries and cities located around the 'Ring of Fire' prepared for possible large waves.
This earthquake was the sixth largest in the world. In August, a volcano in Kamchatka became active again, producing the first tsunami in several centuries, with ash columns rising 29,000 feet into the sky.
“Pilots were warned about the dangers of flying after the impressive eruption of Krasheninnikov.”
Despite the fact that this volcano is considered an active stratovolcano, it has not erupted for about 600 years.

The Kamchatka region has long been known for its seismic activity, as several tectonic plates meet here. This earthquake once again underlined the importance of monitoring seismic events in an area where sudden changes in the natural environment can occur. Fortunately, the Tuesday earthquake did not result in serious repercussions, but society remains prepared for any challenges it may face.
