Odesa stops transport at 9:00: what is known about the minute of silence.
In Odesa region, during the nationwide minute of silence at 9 AM, all types of transport will be halted. Additionally, all educational institutions will suspend classes for 60 seconds at that time.
This became known from the order of the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper.
Transport will be stopped
According to the order of the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, public transport of all kinds will be stopped every morning during the minute of silence at 9:00. The police are to ensure order and adherence to traffic rules during the honoring of the fallen soldiers.
It should be noted that currently, the city transport is not halted during the minute of silence in all communities of the Odesa region.
The Odesa Regional State Administration also added that if a driver is unable to stop during the minute of silence, no penalties are foreseen for this.
Minute of silence in education and business
Furthermore, according to the order, a voice message lasting up to 10 seconds will be announced every morning, notifying about the start of the nationwide minute of silence and counting down to its end.
At 9:00, classes in schools in Odesa region must also be paused. The same applies to meetings and events conducted by any organizations or businesses of all forms of ownership.
A minute of silence will be introduced in Odesa region every day at 9 AM, during which the movement of public transport will be suspended and classes in schools and offices will stop. This decision was made to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers and to ensure peace and dignity during this minute.
