According to The Sun: China has presented the world with cutting-edge military technology that adds to the country's growing arsenal and raises questions about its real capabilities.

President Xi Jinping showcased new hypersonic nuclear warheads, laser guns, and robot dogs, among other impressive weaponry, at a large-scale military parade in Beijing.

The parade, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, took place in a festive atmosphere where Xi Jinping smiled amidst Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin during the demonstration of new weapons.

Tanks, drones, armored trucks, missiles, as well as naval and aerial aircraft were showcased — all these new assets excited the Chinese people and posed serious questions for foreign adversaries.

The Authenticity of Chinese Weapons

However, some experts doubt the real capabilities of Chinese military technology. Rob Peters, a senior fellow in Washington, noted that foreign officials are trying to find 'technical indicators' to understand whether the weapons truly meet the claimed specifications.

“Whenever [China] presents new complex technologies, it’s worth remembering that we should be a bit cautious, thinking they have the best or know how to use it,” Peters stated.

The Chinese army has not been involved in combat since 1979, when it suffered significant losses during the invasion of North Vietnam. Any future conflict will become Xi's first combat test in the harsh world of war.

Nuclear Missiles

Nuclear missiles capable of being launched from the sea, land, and air simultaneously were demonstrated at the parade. It marked the first showing of the 'trinity' nuclear capabilities, including aerial and long-range Jinglei-1 missiles.

Anti-tank missiles, such as the Dongfeng-5C (DF-5C), were also presented to the public for the first time. Experts noted that this weapon raises particular concern as it is liquid-fueled and can launch multiple independent warheads at a single target.

“The exhibition of nuclear weapons at the event was a clear signal to the USA and Europe that they are no longer unattainable,” said Dr. Alessandro Arduino, a China security expert.

Hypersonic Anti-Submarine Missiles

The parade also showcased various anti-submarine missiles, including fast YJ-15 and YJ-20 missiles capable of delivering pinpoint strikes while evading interception systems.

“The presence of a significant variety means they have 'multifunctional combat capabilities',” Chinese state media claimed.

Laser Guns

China also displayed new laser systems for drone defense. A wide range of anti-drone measures, including missiles and laser guns, were showcased during the parade.
