According to Korrespondent.net: At the automotive exhibition in Munich, Hyundai presented a new electric hatchback Concept Three, which will serve as the basis for the production model Ioniq 3. This novelty will compete with the Volkswagen Golf, which is also transitioning to a fully electric platform.

Design and Specifications

Concept Three, also known as Aero Hatch, stands out with its futuristic appearance and user-friendliness. The length of the car is 4,288 mm, which classifies it as a compact hatchback. The Art of Steel design emphasizes dynamics with sharp lines and a coupe-like silhouette. The car features a sporty front, a sloping roof, and a rear window reminiscent of the 2008 Honda Civic, transforming it into an evolution of the eccentric Hyundai Veloster, but with four doors.

The lighting is designed in a pixel style with new gradient effects. Some design elements, such as the 'gull-wing' rear doors, will remain only in the show variant, but the overall dynamic appearance will be preserved in the production model. There are also plans for a sporty N version with an aggressive diffuser, a transparent spoiler, and wide fenders.

Interior and Platform

The interior of Concept Three drastically differs from current standards. Hyundai has abandoned large touch screens in favor of minimalism: the driver will be able to use their own gadget instead of a built-in display. The seats are designed in the style of capsule chairs made from eco-friendly materials.

Although official specifications have not yet been revealed, it is expected that the Ioniq 3 will use the Kia EV3 platform, meaning it will be based on a 400-volt architecture. This will help reduce the cost of the car compared to models with 800-volt systems (like Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6). Versions with one or two electric motors and various battery packs are anticipated. In the top configuration, the range may reach up to 628 km.

Production of the Ioniq 3 for the European market is set to begin in 2027.

It is worth noting that earlier Hyundai introduced the electric sedan Ioniq 6 N.
