Scandal Surrounding Emmanuel Emegha

According to The Sun: New Chelsea recruit Emmanuel Emegha sparked outrage among fans after scoring for Strasbourg on Sunday.

The 22-year-old forward has already signed a seven-year contract with the Blues that will take effect in 2026.

Posing with the Chelsea shirt after confirming his transfer last month, Emegha angered some of his fans. In particular, the ultras, who are already dissatisfied with the situation at the club, expressed their outrage.

Although Emegha missed the last match against Le Havre, he still received boos from the supporters.

“Emegha, pawn of BlueCo, after switching shirts, return your armband,” reads a banner in the stands.

Fans were disappointed with the treatment of Emegha even after the victory over Le Havre, which was also commented on by coach Liam Rosenior.

“Emegha was downcast, and so was I. I am very disappointed with what I saw,” he said.

The forward returned to the lineup in Sunday’s match, where Strasbourg won 3-2 against Paris FC. The winning goal was awarded after a VAR check.

Coach Rosenior and former Chelsea player Diego Moreira expressed support for Emegha, highlighting his importance to the team, especially in the last season.

“The fans were very happy with him, it's also thanks to him that we qualified for the Conference League,” added Moreira.

According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, the announcement of Emegha’s transfer was expedited due to UEFA regulations to avoid potential issues if Chelsea and Strasbourg clash in European competitions next year.

Besides Chelsea, Emegha also attracted attention from Juventus and Newcastle this summer, but the forward chose Chelsea.

Now Emegha is trying to overcome the negative reaction from fans and focus on performances for Strasbourg. However, his connection to Chelsea has already damaged trust among some fans, and at this point, it is important for him to continue to show good performances to change this situation. Whether Emegha can overcome these difficulties will be revealed in the ongoing developments.
