Pension Indexation in March 2025: PFC Named New Percentage and Increase Amounts.

In 2024, the average salary was 17,486.6 hryvnias, which determines the amount of minimum payments for Chernobyl disaster liquidators. The law stipulates that the disability pension of the first group for liquidators cannot be less than the country's average salary for the previous year.
Pension expert Serhiy Korobkin explains that from March 1, 2025, pensions for Chernobyl victims will be recalculated based on the new salary indicator, which will increase the minimum payments for them.
The Pension Fund also reported the average salary for the last quarter of 2024, which is used to determine the individual salary coefficient when calculating pensions. The higher the salary, the greater the salary coefficient and the number of pension points, Korobkin explains.
When assigning regular old-age pensions, the average salary for the three years before the application will be taken into account. For those who retire in 2025, the salary indicator for 2022-2024 will be applied, which amounted to 15,057.09 hryvnias.
From March 1, 2025, there will be a pension indexation that will lead to an increase in payments by 11.5%. However, this increase will only apply to the basic amount of the pension, the expert notes.
The pension system will operate through the state pension fund and private pension funds, which will allow citizens to choose where to store and multiply their pension savings.
