Inflation in Ukraine is rising, despite the drop in food prices: what is becoming more expensive.
According to inkorr.com: Inflation continues to rise in Ukraine, although some products have become slightly cheaper. According to data from the State Statistics Service, prices for goods and services in general are increasing, compensating for the decrease in prices for certain products.
“In September, food became 1% cheaper, however, the overall price increase in the country amounted to 0.3%,” explained Yuriy Lupenko, acting director of the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agrarian Economics'.
Lupenko noted that the main reasons for the rise in prices are the increase in the cost of clothing, footwear, education, alcoholic beverages, and other goods and services. In his opinion, inflationary processes may continue in the coming months, but with less intensity than before. Inflation in September of this year was lower compared to previous years.
Summary
Although some products have decreased in price, the overall price level in Ukraine continues to rise due to the increasing cost of other goods and services. Inflation, although slowed down in September, remains a serious problem for the country, affecting the well-being of the population.
