iPhone 17 price will increase by $50: new prices for all models and details of updates.
Apple may raise the price of all four iPhone 17 models by approximately $50 compared to the iPhone 16. Analyst Edison Lee published a post about this.
This is reported by Tom's Guide.
What the prices of the iPhone 17 might be
According to Lee's estimates, the base prices will increase as follows:
- iPhone 17 - from $799 to $849;
- iPhone 17 Air - from $899 to $949 (if it replaces the iPhone 16 Plus);
- iPhone 17 Pro - from $999 to $1,049;
- iPhone 17 Pro Max - from $1,199 to $1,249.
Some rumors suggest that the 'thin' model, iPhone 17 Air, may turn out to be more expensive than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, so the final prices remain uncertain.
The estimates are made assuming that the initial configurations with storage will remain as in the iPhone 16 lineup: 128 GB for standard and Pro, 256 GB for Pro Max. The closest step toward price increase was the cancellation of the 128 GB version of the iPhone 15 Pro Max: the price of the 256 GB model remained at $1,199, but the entry threshold increased by $100.
This is not the first time such expectations have appeared: back in May, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is considering a price increase this year. Against the backdrop of a general trend toward rising prices in the flagship segment, a $50 increase seems modest: for example, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced at $1,299, while the potential $1,249 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max makes it slightly cheaper than some competitors.
The final amounts will be known during the iPhone presentation, which is expected on September 8. Until then, only rumors and analytical forecasts regarding the entire lineup - iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max - remain.
It should be noted that Apple is preparing significant camera updates in the iPhone 17 series - both in terms of 'hardware' and through a new profile application. An insider has shared details about the improvements that will appear in the Pro models.
Apple's corporation may raise the price of the iPhone 17, resulting in the base models may become $50 more expensive compared to the previous iPhone 16 lineup. The price increase is expected to be reasonable compared to competitors in the smartphone market. The final prices and additional details are expected during the official presentation of the iPhone 17, scheduled for September 8.Read also
