The government facilitated access to state equipment for the rapid repair of energy networks.
According to ТСН: The government made an important decision that allows energy workers to obtain the necessary equipment from state warehouses without unnecessary auctions during martial law. This will significantly speed up the repair of electricity networks after attacks by Russian troops.
Simplification of the equipment transfer procedure
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
"The government is simplifying the transfer of energy equipment to stabilize electricity supply during the war," Svyrydenko stated.
The corresponding decision was made at a Cabinet meeting. The document stipulates that electricity distribution system operators can obtain state equipment for rent without conducting auctions.
The Prime Minister noted that this concerns equipment that is currently not used by state enterprises but can be engaged for the operational restoration of electricity supply after enemy shelling.
"Transformers, cables, and other equipment that is currently idle on the balance sheets of state enterprises can be used for the rapid restoration of electricity after shelling. In conditions of constant attacks, these resources must work where they are needed immediately," she emphasized.
Coordination and duration of the decision
The Ministry of Energy will ensure the coordination of the accounting of such equipment and the determination of the current needs of the energy system. After that, the equipment will be promptly transferred to electricity grid operators for on-site work.
The simplified mechanism for transferring equipment will be in effect throughout the martial law period and for another six months after its cancellation.
It is worth noting that on the night of December 23, the Russian army mass attacked the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. According to Svyrydenko, the western regions were mainly targeted. Energy workers were forced to implement emergency power outages in all regions. Coordination of rescue and recovery services is currently ongoing to stabilize the network.
This decision is an important step in enhancing the efficiency of electricity network restoration under war conditions. Simplifying equipment transfer will help energy workers respond faster to emergencies arising from enemy attacks and ensure the necessary stability of electricity supply for the population. It is expected to positively impact the restoration of critical infrastructure.
