Corruption scandal in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: The leader of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine offered bribes to members of parliament to support certain draft laws. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has confirmed these facts. According to preliminary qualifications, the actions of the faction leader fall under part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.
Actions of anti-corruption agencies
Anti-corruption agencies are currently conducting searches at the office of the 'Batkivshchyna' party. The leader of the 'Batkivshchyna' faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, may also be involved in this case. On December 27, 2025, five members of parliament were served suspicions. Law enforcement officials suggest that the deputies may have been paying other 'shadow salaries'.
