The confrontation with the bear put the Kyiv resident in grave danger. By the time border guards arrived, the bear had already left the scene. Law enforcement safely brought the man down from the tree and transported him to their unit.

Authorities filed an administrative report against the man for attempting to cross the state border illegally. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, border guards have detained approximately 68,500 individuals trying to leave Ukraine unlawfully.
