According to inkorr.com: The websites of government institutions in Moldova have once again become victims of DDoS attacks. This information was made public by specialists from STISC Ukraine on Wednesday. Malefactors are trying to damage online services and create inconveniences for users.
In recent hours, new attempts of DDoS attacks on the state IT infrastructure have been recorded. These malicious actions are aimed at disrupting the operation of government online services and creating inconveniences for users.
According to the report, due to the high intensity of attacks, some services may be temporarily unavailable or experience speed issues.
STISC specialists assured that they are monitoring the situation and taking measures to protect in order to reduce the consequences of the attacks and restore the normal functioning of the systems faster.
Moldova's integration into the European payment area
At the same time, Moldova's integration into the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is becoming an important step for the country, enabling secure and economical euro transfers. According to the National Bank of Moldova, in 2024 alone, over 830 thousand transactions worth a total of 11.8 billion euros were conducted between Moldova and SEPA countries. This indicates Moldova's European course and its growing integration with the European Union.
Additionally, Moldova plans to open a 'negotiation cluster' with the EU without the participation of Ukraine, highlighting the country's determination to strengthen its relations with the European Union.
The situation with DDoS attacks on government websites of Moldova is alarming, as they can create serious problems for users. At the same time, the country's integration into the European payment area opens new opportunities for the economy and enhances the level of financial services. These events point to the importance of protecting information infrastructure in the face of growing cyber threats and Moldova's determination to move forward toward European standards.
