Kyivstar Revises Mobile Number Renewal Policy, Effective 2026.
Kyivstar's New Policy for Extending Mobile Number Validity
According to Novyny.live: Starting February 6, 2026, Kyivstar will implement a new policy for prepaid subscribers to extend their mobile number's validity period. The renewal process will grant a 365-day extension, during which customers can retain their phone numbers.
The number will remain fully active for the first 274 days. Following this, from day 91 of the new period, it will enter a suspended state. During this suspension, subscribers will retain the ability to:
- Top up their account balance;
- Make calls to customer service numbers.
To fully reactivate the number and resume normal service, a minimum top-up of 30 UAH will be required. The contact number's validity will be set for 50 years with automatic renewal, though the operator reserves the right to terminate service if a subscriber is unreachable for over 60 days. These changes are part of a broader industry trend towards more defined service terms.
Why Monitoring Your Number's Status is Crucial
Kyivstar emphasizes the importance of monitoring renewal deadlines to avoid service suspension. The new terms could significantly impact subscribers accustomed to the previous conditions.
The introduction of this new renewal framework may lead to shifts in customer behavior, as users will need to pay closer attention to their number's active status. This could also prompt some subscribers to consider changing their tariff plans or even switching providers if the updated terms no longer meet their needs. It is vital for users to be aware of these changes to prevent misunderstandings and potential loss of their phone number.
