China Doubles its Import of Russian Oil: Reasons for the Sharp Increase.
Chinese oil refineries are actively purchasing Russian oil due to a price drop following India's rejection of raw materials from the RF under pressure from Washington, Bloomberg reports.
In August, supplies of Urals-grade Russian oil to China rose to nearly 75,000 barrels per day, which is almost twice the average figure.
'At the same time, exports to India this month dropped to 400,000 barrels per day compared to an average of 1.18 million,' Bloomberg reports.
Experts see that Chinese refiners are currently in a better position than Indian ones, as the price of Urals from Russia is competitive with Middle Eastern oil.
Thus, due to Washington's pressure on India, China increases its purchase of Russian oil, ensuring favorable conditions for itself in the raw materials market.
