China launches satellite Gaofen-14: possible military use.
According to Korrespondent.net: China has launched a new Earth observation satellite Gaofen-14 02, which, in addition to civilian purposes, can also be used for national defense. This was reported by the Xinhua News Agency on October 26.
Satellite Launch
The spacecraft was sent into orbit by the Long March-3B rocket, which lifted off from the Xichang spaceport in Sichuan province at 11:55 local time (5:55 in Kyiv).
Functions and Purpose of the Satellite
The new satellite is capable of obtaining high-precision stereo images on a global scale, providing important geo-information support for the country's economic development and defense needs.
This launch marked the 603rd flight for the Long March rocket series.
Chinese Involvement in the Conflict in Ukraine
Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported that China is assisting Russia by providing satellite reconnaissance data for missile strikes on Ukraine. It was also mentioned that on October 5, Chinese satellites observed Ukraine during a missile-drone attack from Russia.
