Audi launches new electric crossover for China: what is known about the model

According to Korrespondent.net: Audi continues to expand its range of its Chinese sub-brand AUDI, created to respond to changing demands in the Chinese market. At the Guangzhou Auto Show, the company presented its second concept under the AUDI brand – the electric crossover E SUV. As noted by Motor1, despite its concept status, the vehicle is already being prepared for mass production, scheduled for 2026.

The novelty is based on the Advanced Digitized Platform, developed in collaboration with SAIC, on which the first E5 Sportback also debuted.

Specifications and design of the E SUV

The E SUV has significantly larger dimensions compared to the previous model: the length is 5057 mm, the width is 2042 mm, and the wheelbase is 3060 mm. These indicators highlight the focus on a spacious second row, which is extremely important for Chinese consumers. The design of the car is markedly different from traditional Audi models: instead of a grille, there is a smooth surface, with a large AUDI inscription replacing the signature four rings, installed camera mirrors, a roof-mounted LiDAR, and C-shaped light graphics.

Technical specifications

Huge 23-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires emphasize the model's scale. The electric crossover is equipped with a 109 kWh battery, providing over 700 km of range according to the CLTC cycle. In 10 minutes on fast charging, up to 320 km of range can be obtained. The dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which AUDI continues to call quattro, allows for acceleration to 100 km/h in just five seconds.

Like the first model of the sub-brand, the E SUV will be manufactured exclusively in China. Although prices have not yet been announced, it is expected that the novelty will be more expensive than the E5 Sportback, which has a starting price ranging from $33,000 to $45,000 in the top configuration.
