Chinese Toyota RAV4 updated its design: retains gasoline engine
In China, Toyota is preparing an update for the Wildlander crossover, which is produced jointly with GAC and serves as an alternative to the familiar RAV4 from FAW. The new model almost entirely replicates the design of the latest generation RAV4, however, it has its own technical specifications, reports Carscoops. The first images of the model appeared thanks to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Unlike its predecessor with a distinct front and back, the new Wildlander visually corresponds to the RAV4 Core version - with a body-colored grille and protective cladding on the bumpers. The dimensions of the model are 4600 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm - almost identical to the RAV4 for Europe and the USA. The main difference is the engines: while the global RAV4 has fully transitioned to electrified powertrains, the Wildlander retains a gasoline version with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine producing 169 hp and available with front or all-wheel drive.Additionally, two hybrids will be offered without the ability to recharge: one with a 2.0-liter engine producing 150 hp or a 2.5-liter with 182 hp, both with electric motors and options for front-wheel drive or E-four all-wheel drive, where the front wheels are driven by an internal combustion engine and the rear by a separate electric motor. The official premiere is expected in the coming months. Later, the updated RAV4 from FAW Toyota, which will be almost identical, will enter the market. It was previously reported that the sixth generation Toyota RAV4 debuted.
