Chinese brands canceled their iPhone Air analogues: the reason is low demand.
According to Korrespondent.net: The weak demand for the iPhone Air has unexpectedly led major Chinese smartphone manufacturers to revise their strategies. As reported by DigiTimes, the unsuccessful launch of the model convinced Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo to abandon their own ultra-slim smartphones that were supposed to compete with Apple's new product.
Sources indicate that due to low sales, Foxconn has reduced production lines for the iPhone, while supplier Luxshare has completely halted assembly of this model. An additional signal was that the chief designer of Air recently left the company, and Apple, according to insiders, has postponed the release of the successor.
Market Issues
The troubles with demand for ultra-thin models are not limited to Apple. A similar situation is observed at Samsung: the Galaxy S25 Edge is showing modest sales, leading the company to reportedly cancel plans to continue this lineup.

In light of these events, smartphone manufacturers are forced to adapt their strategies, taking consumer preferences into account. The situation in the market indicates that competition among manufacturers may be more intense, as new trends require new approaches. The abandonment of ultra-thin models may lead to a reassessment of smartphone design and functionality in the future.
