Chinese scientists managed to create rain using drones
Chinese scientists successfully conducted an experiment on artificial rain induction using drones in the Xinjiang region. They sprayed silver iodide from an altitude of over 5,000 meters, which resulted in an increase in precipitation of 70,000 cubic meters of water. This is equivalent to the volume of water in 30 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The study was conducted over the Bayanbulak pastures under the supervision of the Cloud Precipitation Physics Laboratory and Weather Modification Office of the China Meteorological Administration in collaboration with the Xinjiang Weather Modification Office. The results indicate a significant increase in precipitation, which could be important for water supply and food security in the region.
According to one of the authors of the study, Li Bin, the experiment demonstrated the potential of the technology in combating drought and adapting to climate change.
New opportunities in the fight against heat
In addition, Chinese scientists also tested an explosive device based on hydrogen that can be used without nuclear materials. Magnesium hydride, containing over 7% hydrogen, proved to be very effective in the explosive reaction. This discovery opens up new possibilities in the fight against heat and expands adaptation to climate change.
